There are many paths to success in the technology industry. With plentiful venture capital available, the proliferation of open source software, and a pandemic-fueled urgency for digital transformation, almost anything is possible. But there is another, time-tested formula that Vultr founder David Aninowsky and his team employed in 2014 when they bootstrapped Vultr: make a product that is as easy as possible for customers to use, and offer it for a fair price.
Today, we are excited to announce that Vultr’s straightforward, customer-centric approach has enabled over 1.3 million users to deploy almost 50 million cloud compute instances globally, allowing Vultr to surpass $115 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). Vultr customers successfully deploy SaaS and mobile applications, websites, video streaming applications, massively multiplayer games, and more, through Vultr’s simple UI and APIs.
"Our recent $115M revenue milestone proves that our bootstrapped approach can be sustainable without following the traditional VC-funded route,” said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Constant®, the creator of Vultr. "We are well-positioned to become the preeminent independent provider of cloud infrastructure for businesses and developers around the world."
One of the keys to Vultr’s success has been its ability to deliver low-latency compute performance as close to users as possible. With 19 global datacenter locations online today, including recently launched locations in Mexico City and Stockholm, we are excited to announce that Vultr will launch in São Paulo, Brazil, Madrid, Spain, and Warsaw, Poland by the end of 2021. The upcoming expansion to 22 locations will give Vultr more global datacenter locations than DigitalOcean and Linode combined, further cementing Vultr’s status as the independent cloud with the largest global footprint, that can get your app as close to your users as possible.
"Vultr's price-to-performance is exceptional, and its highly-available infrastructure is located near our customers in Australia and around the world,” said Rob Ormond, CTO, simPRO. "We've developed a great relationship with the Vultr team, and know we can count on them to deliver."
Vultr is stocking its cloud datacenter locations with more than just high-performance cloud compute instances. Unlike its independent cloud competitors, Vultr also offers the control, security, and performance of next generation Bare Metal - single-tenant, non-virtualized hardware that is as easy to deploy as cloud compute instances. Vultr Bare Metal options are rolling out now to more locations across the globe.
A Big THANK YOU
As an entirely self-funded company, with no outside equity financing, we recognize that success would not be possible without the users, customers, employees and partners that choose Vultr. Our ability to open new locations, launch new offerings (like Vultr Kubernetes Engine) and grow our team is totally dependent on customers choosing to deploy on Vultr, working with passionate Vultr employees that collaborate to serve those customers. THANK YOU for contributing to Vultr’s success.
What Comes Next
