The Vultr team is excited to announce performance improvements to Vultr Block Storage! Powered by high-performance, reliable enterprise-grade NVMe infrastructure, Vultr’s NVMe tier block storage product has long been trusted where storage throughput, IOPS and latency are essential.

Performance limits have been increased, delivering even more capability for the same $0.10/GB/month price. NVMe Vultr Block Storage limits now target 10,000 IOPS and 400 MB/s throughput per attached block volume, an upgrade from 7,500 IOPS and 300 MB/s.

These higher limits have been rolled out to existing customer deployments, though reattaching the storage volume may be required to access the new higher performance limits for volumes attached prior to October 8.

In addition to these increased limits, Vultr customers can now take advantage of an activity burst feature. For up to 60 seconds, performance can be ‘pulled ahead’ to exceed performance limits by an extra 50%, though a period of reduced activity is then required to recharge the activity burst feature before it can be used again.
