Configuring an AI-native cloud to meet modern deployment, scalability, and security demands is no small feat. Vultr’s innovative cloud platform continues to set new standards in enterprise infrastructure — but getting to that point requires the right partners.
On Tuesday, Vultr Senior Vice President of Engineering Nathan Goulding joined Supermicro Staff AI Solution Manager Linda Yang and AMD Business Development Director Ted Marena for a webinar on how their services enabled Vultr to build our state-of-the-art AI cloud.

Vultr’s mission is to democratize cloud and bring composable AI infrastructure to our customers with speed, precision, and reliability. With the rate at which today’s technology landscape moves, being first to market is critical. Supermicro enables Vultr to do just that.
“Being able to lean on a partner that we trust to be able to bring this technology to our customers is really, really important,” Goulding said. “It’s very difficult to do something both quickly and also with quality. And that’s one of the things that we rely on Supermicro for.”
Vultr’s AI solutions rely in large part on AMD offerings. Though Marena called Instinct™ GPUs the “star for AI,” AMD’s robust portfolio also includes EPYC™ CPUs and networking solutions, composing an open architecture and open ecosystem for developers, providers, and customers deploying and scaling AI applications.
As Yang pointed out, deploying AI infrastructure at scale requires more than just reliable hardware — it also takes deep expertise in support and services to ensure seamless integration and operation. Supermicro’s onsite validation, with technicians and engineers at data centers for support, helped Vultr be among the first clouds to bring each generation of the AMD Instinct series, including the MI355X, to market.
“Partnering with OEMs like Supermicro and technology companies such as AMD, we’re able to deliver that to our customers,” Goulding said. “And that’s what we’re focused on: ensuring that we’re able to continue to bring the latest and greatest technology to our customers, as the workloads and the AI and the HPC model training inference, all those applications and workloads, continue to evolve. I think that we at Vultr are strategically positioned to meet those demands.”
