Accelerating AI at Scale with Verizon

Here at Vultr, we are dedicated to building an ecosystem of best-of-breed AI infrastructure collaborators to help our customers scale their AI workloads worldwide. Our newest partnership with Verizon advances this mission. Vultr is leveraging Verizon’s global footprint of telco facilities and AI Connect network infrastructure and services to provide optimal deployment solutions for business across Vultr’s 32 global data center regions for deploying AI models at scale.

The shift to the edge

As AI adoption and maturity continue to increase, organizations are moving from model training to managing and delivering value through AI with inference. This shift to inference can strain infrastructure – driving an immediate demand for faster, more secure edge connectivity and computing capabilities.

As a part of this, we’ll see inference occur at the edge. According to our recent research with S&P Global Market Intelligence, The New Battleground: Unlocking the Power of AI Maturity/MultiModel AI, most agree it is critical to bring AI capabilities to the edge, where inferencing could deliver maximum beneficial results. The vast majority (85%) say this shift is likely or highly likely to occur in their environments.

Inside our partnership with Verizon

Verizon Business provides global connectivity for SMBs at public sector agencies worldwide. This connectivity uses Verizon’s global fiber network to provide unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS), security, and internet, including global 5G wireless and internet services. Last Friday, Verizon Business announced the launch of Verizon AI Connect, an integrated suite of solutions and products designed to enable businesses to deploy AI workloads at scale.

“As the demand for real-time AI processing continues to soar, GPUs are becoming more critical in supporting these workloads, especially at the edge,” said Kevin Cochrane, CMO of Vultr. “With data center and GPU capacity struggling to keep up, Verizon’s connectivity infrastructure offers a powerful solution to help us scale. By leveraging Verizon AI Connect, we can expand our reach and provide advanced AI capabilities to Verizon Business’ global customers."

What makes this partnership significant

As organizations move towards the intelligent age in adopting AI across business processes, Verizon datacenters, Verizon networking, Verizon unified communications, and connectivity infrastructure provide a critical foundation for enterprises building, deploying, and scaling new AI models and services at the edge.

Verizon AI Connect enables distributed telecom facilities in major metro areas to host large GPU clusters for AI training and inference, all powered by clean, sustainable energy with water cooling to support the latest generation of chips. In addition, Verizon provides edge-to-cloud connectivity to support the mobile workforce and IoT devices that collect, analyze, make decisions, and stream data from remote devices. The platform also delivers intelligent, programmable networking to ensure safe, secure, private cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical and business-critical AI operational workloads. With Verizon OneFiber, long-haul and metro connectivity are optimized to minimize latency and maximize performance wherever your employees or customers are.

Our first region is going live in the Western United States, and more regions will follow as Vultr continues the global buildout of its AMD and NVIDIA GPU suites.
