Vultr Announces 34th Cloud Data Center Region in Chennai, India, Among World’s Largest AMD Instinct™ Superclusters

India is home to one of the world’s preeminent AI ecosystems. We’re doubling down on our investment in India’s AI future with one of the world’s largest AMD Instinct™ superclusters, deploying in Chennai as Vultr’s 34th global cloud data center region.

The supercluster will start at 20 MW of AMD Instinct™ MI355X GPUs. Further expansion is planned for 2027, featuring next-generation AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs and the AMD Helios™ rackscale solution.

The Chennai supercluster meets the moment for an Indian economy with significant AI momentum. AMD Instinct GPUs and the AMD Helios rackscale solution enable enterprises to quickly get AI projects from experimental pilots to large-scale production AI services, with top-tier price-to-performance.

And the supercluster aligns with the collaborative, open-source nature of India’s AI landscape: AMD Instinct GPUs and AMD Helios are built on an open software foundation, giving enterprises and developers maximum control and sovereignty over their high-performance workloads. Chennai customers can also access the Vultr Cloud Alliance, featuring strategic pre-built stacks with other tech leaders to enhance composability and support a wide range of industry use cases.

We’re writing another chapter in our deep partnership with AMD. With solutions like the AMD EPYC™-powered Vultr VX1™ Cloud Compute, which provides an optimal CPU foundation for agentic AI, as well as our support for the full-stack AMD Helios rackscale solution, together we continue to showcase our joint core belief that openness drives innovation.

That belief guides everything we do at Vultr. But beyond just a principle of ours, we believe that it’s where enterprise demand is already moving – which is why our Chennai expansion is just one of many recent and upcoming platform upgrades geared for enterprises worldwide.

Enterprises are seeking cloud solutions that deliver the CPU and GPU acceleration, along with full-stack networking and storage solutions, needed to fuel impactful projects like agentic AI – with a rapid path to deployment while maintaining control and flexibility. We see our debut in the Forrester Wave: Public Cloud Platforms, Q3 2026 as a “Strong Performer,” positioning us alongside legacy hyperscalers and above GPU-exclusive neoclouds with shorter track records and greater data privacy concerns, as a sign of that shifting demand.

India epitomizes that shift. Now, we’re providing another avenue for enterprises and developers to access infrastructure closer to where they’re building and deploying AI.
